A parents worse nightmare…head lice! How does it spread and how-to prevent.

Good afternoon beauties and happy Thursday! I know this is an embarrassing subject to discuss, but it is one of the most important especially with our kids going back to school. How many of us have had the scare of an outbreak of head lice at our children’s daycare or school? And how many where thanking the hair gods that it wasn’t our kid? Well let me tell that just because you miss that one time there will be many more between now and end of high school. Now, I don’t want to freak you guys out but I thought I’d share some quick information about these little buggers.

How do they spread?

I remember back when I was in school we all thought that lice could jump from person to person. Today we know that they crawl not jump! The lice can live up to 36 hours off our children’s head. Which leads me to…

How to prevent lice?

It is extremely important to never share combs, ponytails, hats, scarves, coats, blankets and/or pillows. When taking your kid to daycare or preschool make sure that they have cubby’s. If you want to take it a step further bring a large plastic bag for your children’s things to go into.

Another step to take in lice prevention is to perform a daily head check. This is a simple process where you look through the hair..making sure to check the hot spots where lice like to live. Those spots are behind the ears, along the part line, and at the base of the neck.

I hope that none you have to ever go through the frustration of head lice, but if you do I HIGHLY recommend Fairy Tales Lice Good-Bye Survival Kit . This treatment does not contain any harsh chemicals or pesticides. Which means that you are able to use it over and over again without harming you or your child. The Lice Good-Bye contains yeast enzymes that helps dissolve lice and sticky knit glue. I recommend that you go out and get one today and just keep it in the back of you linen closet and pray that you never need to you it.

I want to thank Fair Tales Hair Care for providing me with all of this data and if you are needing further information about head lice I recommend visiting them at http://www.fairytaleshaircare.com/
